About

Modern hotel in LA Koreatown, blending unique architecture with a true California vibe

🍵 Editorial Take

The LINE LA is a strong option for Korean American couples who want the flexibility to mix traditional wedding elements with a very modern LA setting. The main reception space, Gramercy Ballroom, is 4,081 square feet and holds up to 300 guests, with a separate indoor/outdoor foyer and garden. Gramercy Garden holds 60, Openaire holds 150 for a reception or 80 for a ceremony, and the Pool Deck holds 200. There are also smaller spaces that can work well for a paebaek or rehearsal dinner.

The food is handled in-house, with menus from two-Michelin-star chef Josiah Citrin. Past wedding options have included dishes like flat iron steak with doenjang brown butter and galbi braised short ribs with gochujang. Do note that this is a full-service venue where food and beverage are handled in-house, so you won't be able to bring in outside caterers.

The hotel is stylish enough that you may not need to do much to dress it up. Reviewers like that it needs relatively little additional décor, with floor-to-ceiling windows, greenhouse-style spaces, and stylish rooms that photograph well. It also has unusually good built-in options for keeping the night going: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is the hotel’s nightclub, while Break Room 86 is a karaoke space. One Korean bride held her reception here, changed into hanbok for dinner, incorporated a paebaek ceremony, and then moved the party to Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

Best for Korean American couples looking to do a very modern LA wedding while still keeping Korean culture meaningfully part of the day.
